On May 29, 2026, Zhang Ning, former Vice Chairman of the Maoming Municipal CPPCC and consultant to Maoming Green Chemical Research Institute, led a delegation together with the team of Guangdong Huajinda New Materials Co., Ltd. to Teng County, Guangxi, for a focused technical exchange with Academician Wang Shuangfei’s team from the College of Light Industry, Guangxi University. The discussion focused on Alkenyl Succinic Anhydride (ASA) sizing agent, high-carbon alcohol defoamer, and paper chemicals, with attention to the high-quality development of the paper industry and domestic alternatives for key chemical products.
Academician Wang Shuangfei is a leading expert in China’s pulp and paper engineering field. His long-term research focuses on clean production and pollution control in the pulp and paper industry, supporting the industry’s transition toward greener and more sustainable manufacturing. The College of Light Industry at Guangxi University has strong research capabilities and technical experience in pulp and paper technology, providing important support for the development of Guangxi’s paper industry.
During the meeting, Dr. Huang Zhijian, Chief Engineer of Huajinda, introduced the company’s ASA sizing agent production capacity, core technologies, quality control system, and the R&D progress of its high-carbon alcohol defoamer, a product under development to reduce dependence on imported alternatives.
Academician Wang’s team also shared application research findings on ASA paper sizing agents and high-carbon alcohol defoamers. Both sides held in-depth discussions on product performance improvement, application scenarios, technical challenges, and possible industrial production pathways.
The two sides agreed to focus their technical cooperation on two main areas: improving ASA product quality and jointly developing high-carbon alcohol defoamer formulations. Through this cooperation, they aim to support the development and application of key paper chemicals, improve supply chain stability, and provide more competitive domestic product solutions for customers in the paper industry.
At the same time, both parties will further strengthen university-enterprise cooperation in joint talent development, research commercialization, and the co-development of innovation platforms, promoting closer integration between technical research and industrial application.
This technical exchange laid a solid foundation for long-term cooperation between Huajinda and Guangxi University in the field of paper chemicals. Moving forward, the three parties will accelerate the implementation of cooperation projects, support industrial upgrading through technological innovation, and jointly contribute to the green and high-quality development of China’s paper industry.
