Why We Require Import Chemical Purchase Plans at Least One Month in Advance?

We clarify why we require purchase plans to be submitted at least one month ahead of time, based on extensive practical experience, designed to ensure the stability and security of our clients’ production supply chains.

Many procurement professionals may wonder why we require purchase plans to be submitted at least one month ahead of time. Is this merely a tactic to boost sales?

We wish to clarify that this requirement is based on extensive practical experience, designed to ensure the stability and security of our clients’ production supply chains.

Below is a detailed breakdown of our delivery process:

  • PreparationStage: Stock preparation begins immediately after order confirmation. For standard stock items, this takes approximately 3-5 days. For items requiring special packaging or customization, preparation may take 5-30 days.
  • BookingContainer: Occurs concurrently with stock preparation, typically requires 3-5 working days. However, if space is very tight, booking can take half a month.
  • Customs Inspection: If the product is classified as a hazardous chemical, a 3-5 working day on-site customs inspection is mandatory. PS. This step is not required for general cargo.
  • Land Transport to Port: Land transit time to the designated port ranges from 2 to 7 days, depending on the destination.
  • Customs Clearance Process: 3-5 working days.
  • Loading : 3-4 days.
  • Ocean Freight: Depending on the final destination port.
  • Port Arrival

Considering all these stages, even under optimal conditions, the total delivery cycle from preparation to loading takes at least half a month.

Any unforeseen circumstances—such as failed customs inspections requiring re-inspection, or cancellations by the shipping line—can extend the delivery timeline, potentially disrupting clients’ production schedules.

Therefore, to guarantee timely receipt of goods and prevent adverse impacts on production plans caused by delivery delays, we strongly advise clients to submit purchase plans at least one month in advance.

This approach serves two critical purposes:

  • It builds essential buffer time to handle potential unexpected events.
  • It provides us with sufficient time to coordinate resources effectively, ensuring smooth order execution.

Additionally, advance planning allows us to better schedule production and stock preparation, enhancing the overall responsiveness and flexibility of the supply chain.

In summary, submitting purchase plans well in advance is a vital measure to safeguard the stability and security of your production supply chain.
